Activating Honesty
I find that self honesty is one of the important attributes
we can develop to live a wonderfully fulfilled life. Instead of
being impeccably honest I see us as humans thinking and
therefore creating from old lies and biases against self and
others.
I find it challenging and yet rewarding when I am willing to
be completely open and honest with myself. Recently I had the
experience of absolutely knowing reality was one thing when
really it was quite different and much better than what I had
originally believed. As I was open to Truth it did set me and my
thinking free. As the biblical saying goes: “Know the Truth and
it will set you free.“ Oh, the freedom that automatically comes
from being as honest as we can be feels so good. In this Truth
process all defensiveness then leaves us as we look deeply into
how we see the world and what we really believe and then taking
responsibility for changing those lies and half truths.
As we honestly review our human responses we find we often
see what we want to see and don‘t see what we don‘t want to see.
It‘s like wearing a sign that says don‘t disturb me with Truth,
my mind is already made up. I agree with Edward Viljoen saying
“Be cautious of people who are very certain about what they
know”. To be open to see True reality is an awesome experience.
Let’s chose to do exactly that.
My life motto is to follow Ernest Holmes famous saying “Stay
Open at the top” and I add, and the Truth, that sets you free,
is revealed!
I love to read Oprah’s column entitled “what I know for sure.
It always touches Truth within me. I suspect it is because what
we know for sure is Truth and the Truth within Oprah is the same
Truth within me. What I know for sure is when I am unafraid of
Truth then Truth sets me free. And then happiness follows. May
you be happier each day of your life as you allow Truth to be
known!
